Laura has represented her neighbors in Precincts D and E for eight years at Wellesley Town Meeting. She decided to run in 2011 after earning the support of her neighborhood and the town for a proposal to designate Brookside Road as a Scenic Road. Laura brought her neighbors together to advocate for the designation and then made a proposal to the Planning Board. The Planning Board approved the concept and sponsored the article at Town meeting. The motion passed by an overwhelming majority. Laura was elected to Town Meeting in the following election.
